This site does not use cookies, does not track your location, and does not collect any personal information. We don't use third-party analytics, fingerprinting, or any form of user tracking. We count visits ourselves — anonymously, as described below.
When you search for a city or zip code, the coordinates of that location (not your personal location) are sent to the following third-party services to retrieve weather data:

Your coordinates are rounded to roughly 1 km inside your browser before use, are sent only to the same weather services listed above (exactly as if you had typed a city name), and never touch a server of ours. Note that your browser itself may use its vendor's location service (for example, Google's in Chrome) to work out your position. The "use my location automatically" setting only takes effect on visits where you have already granted permission. When the page is showing “My location”, the refresh button re-reads your position the same way, and the automatic half-hour refresh does so only while permission is already granted.
How we count visits: when a page loads, your browser sends our own counting service (tally, running on Cloud Run like the proxies above) one small message. This is the whole thing:

That’s the page you opened, the domain that linked you here (blank if you came directly), whether you’re using the home-screen app, and whether this is your first visit today. Your browser decides that last one itself, using a date saved in local storage — so no ID of any kind ever exists on our side. We can see that someone visited, never who. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no IP addresses stored, and the same Google Cloud logging exclusions as our other services, so the platform’s access logs aren’t retained either.
Your preferences (dark mode, temperature units, time format, language, visual style, and section layout) are saved in your browser's local storage (not a cookie) so they persist between visits. Pollen data is also cached locally to reduce unnecessary API calls. You can clear all of this anytime by clearing your browser data.
Your phone might ask you to "Install this page", which means creating a shortcut to a website on your home screen, known as a Progressive Web App (PWA). This makes the site act like a native app, allowing it to load faster, and appear with your other apps on your home screen.
